Short film about two unlikely friends who strike up a connection when their hospital beds are placed next to each other. One man has lost his sight, while the other man is elderly and gravely ill. The old man’s bed was next to the room’s only window. The blinded man spent his days lying on his back. His only way to “see” the world around him was by listening to his friend describe what he saw taking place outside the window. The old man was happy to oblige his sightless friend, who relished those afternoons hearing about the activity, color, and excitement happening beyond the hospital window. One morning, the ill man is transferred to a different unit, and unfortunately the blind man loses a dear friend. When the nurse comes into his room, he asks her to describe what is happening outside the window. Her response is truly shocking! yet it made him smile.
